Continuous Cables: An Exploration of Knitted Cabled Knots, Rings, Swirls, and Curlicues Overviews

Mention the phrase “cable knitting,” and most people—knitters and non-knitters alike—envision textured ropes, twists, and braids winding up knitted fabrics. But did you know that knitters can also create circular, closed-ring shapes with cables? Just imagine: curlicues, rings, swirls, knots—even intricate Celtic-inspired motifs—all richly embossed on knits!

In Continuous Cables, expert knitwear designer Melissa Leapman goes beyond the traditional, ordinary cables explored in her first book, Cables Untangled, providing knitters with an original collection of projects and stitch patterns featuring beautiful, closed-ring cables.

Complex-looking cables aren’t as hard as they look, and in Continuous Cables, Leapman breaks them down into all of their component parts. The all-new patterns are versatile and sophisticated, and the directions are clear and accessible. Leapman walks knitters through projects that include everything from starter projects (Simple Pillow, Simple Hat) and home accents (Fireside Afghan, Stowe Cabin Throw Rug), to clothing for women (Sage Tunic, Honeysuckle Sleeveless Shell), and gifts for friends and family (Baby Blocks, Man’s Entwined Circles Pullover).

But Continuous Cables isn’t merely a source for 20 fun patterns—it also features more than 80 original individual stitch patterns, most designed just for this book. With a primer on basics, a useful yarn choice and substitution section, resource guide, and a stitch dictionary of closed-ring cable patterns, Continuous Cables is a must-have reference for any cable knitter’s growing library.

Endless cables, infinite possibilities!

Continuous Cables: An Exploration of Knitted Cabled Knots, Rings, Swirls, and Curlicues CustomerReview

I love this book. I was wary at first being as knitting cables seem complex. Knitting and assembling garment is labor intensive already without adding the extra work. Even when I opened the book I knew I'd made a good purchase. I've already knit three patterns from the author's designs, and using what I've learned about cables and using the principles of this book, I've made several mini projects of my own design.

I'm not bragging, I'm what I call an experienced beginner, meaning that I knit very well using some techniques and fare horribly with others. Melissa Leapman (author) is so good with her style of writing that I felt she was my teacher in the same room! The basics of cable knitting, closed-ring cables, and cable motifs are all covered in this book. There are several complicated stitch patterns and sequences, but the detailed instruction along with PERFECT illustrations are included in the beginning part of the book!

There are only a few patterns I will not be using in this book. Cables are bulky and a few of her patterns put cables on already boxy and shapeless skirts or tunics. For the perfect figure with a perfect salary (with which to buy fine yarns), these are probably great projects, but not for me. I am also going to lengthen a few of the patterns to hip length as this length is more flattering and usually warmer.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone who wants to master the art of cable knitting or who wants to use the already present skill to expand their wardrobe and home decor.

There are 7 Home Decor patterns (pillows, throws, afghans, etc.)
10 sweater and garment patterns
and several accessories patterns including a charming cabled purse.

Smeg is a brand we have come to accept in the United Kingdom over the past 3 decades, but its history goes back much further than that. Smeg, in fact, one of the oldest brands on the market today, and remains true to its Italian roots.

The reason that most of us know, Smeg, because of his long series of colorful American 50s-style fridge freezers. Smeg refrigerators for the majority of their sales for the last 30 years throughout Europe and over accounted for.

Air Conditioning Parts

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The three most important parts of an air conditioning unit is the compressor, condenser and evaporator. The compressor and condenser are on the outside of the air conditioner and the evaporator is located inside.

The basic operation of the air conditioning is on the principle of successive heating and cooling based on a highly volatile liquid, eg, a freon. The liquid enters the first compressor, where it is compressed into a gas. This heat press, making theRefrigerant. The waste heat is radiated outwards with the help of a ventilator. The liquid then enters the condenser where it absorbs heat from a conversion to gas. Therefore, the surroundings are cool. The entire process is continued cyclically and that causes the cooling of the room.

Besides the three main parts of air conditioning, air conditioning also has a battery hot on the outside to dissipate heat, cold on the inside of a coil to absorb heat, the two lovers (one outsideand one internal) and a control circuit to change the temperature. This is done by changing the fan speed via a potentiometer.

The most important and expensive is the air conditioning compressor. Companies offer guarantees on the compressor and a compressor capable of providing good quality effective long worked for several years. New compressors can be purchased and in the air when the fault develops initial installed. It is ideal for a compressor from yousame company as the rest of the air conditioning. However, it is also necessary to remember that only a few companies manufacture their own compressors, the rest just buy and install in their units.

Evaporators and condensers can also be replaced. The case also applies to the cooling and heating coils. Problems in the clutches of bad heat dissipation, making the results unsatisfactory. Fans are the simpler components to replace the air conditioning units. They areSimply furnished with screws to the outside of air conditioning and with the wires to the board of air.

Another component of the air conditioning is the outer shell. The lid has no other function than to give an appearance that the air conditioning. It is usually made of molded plastic and is available in a variety of colors and designs. The same can be said of keys and buttons. Water management is essential if the air conditioning of faces in the streetoutside.
